AVAIL for granular phosphate fertilizers is designed to be sprayed on granular phosphate fertilizers (MAP, DAP and other granular phosphate fertilizers), to sequester antagonistic metals in the soil surrounding the fertilizer granule, reduce tie-up of phosphate, and make phosphate more available to the plant.
AVAIL increases phosphate availability through all stages of plant growth, including the early development period crucial for increasing yield potential. AVAIL is water-soluble, biodegradable and non-toxic.
AVAIL for granular phosphate fertilizers is a non-plant food ingredient and not recommended for use as a fertilizer substitute. Phosphorus has a negative charge, so when phosphorus fertilizer is applied, it is immediately attracted to cations in the soil profile. Anything from 75% to 95% of the phosphorus becomes fixed in the soil, which makes it unavailable to the plant. Through the use of the patented polymer technology, AVAIL creates a negatively-charged shield around the applied P fertilizer. This causes the cations to bond with AVAIL and keeps the phosphorus free and available to the plant from application to harvest. More available P can lead to rapid early growth, healthier crops and stronger yield potential
Application rates: AVAIL is applied to the soil in the same manner as phosphate fertilizers.
Soil types and crops: AVAIL is designed to reduce fixation of phosphate fertilizers in any soil type and could be used with any crop where phosphate fertilizer is deemed useful for plant growth and development.
Mixing and application: AVAIL should be evenly sprayed, not poured, onto granular phosphate fertilizers. The fertilizer should be dry prior to spraying. Incolder conditions, the viscosity level of AVAIL should be checked before spraying. Most standard spraying or blending equipment will work well fortreating the granules. Increasing ventilation and tumbling of the sprayed product will reduce drying time and enhance coverage of AVAIL on fertilizer granules. The exposed innersurfaces of the blending equipment should be clean, dry and free of rust. Allow wet fertilizer to dry before spreading. The AVAIL spraying should be applied to the phosphate fertilizerbefore blending with other fertilizer materials (i.e. nitrogen or potassium).
316-grade stainless steel pumps and attachments are recommended. When seals are used, seals made of Gore-Tex, Teflon or Viton are required.
Treatment rates: AVAIL is designed to be evenly sprayed on granular phosphate fertilizers at a rate of 0.25% per ton of granular phosphate fertilizer (equal to 2.1 litres of AVAIL per metric ton).
Anti-caking properties: Caking of fertilizer which sometimes occurs with granular phosphate while stored in bins are inhibited by AVAIL.
Precautions and disclaimers: Keep out of the reach of children. Do not inhale or swallow.Do not use in liquid phosphate fertilizers and as a seed coating. Always wear proper personal protection equipment (PPE) such as masks and safety glasses. Wear long sleeves and long pants, and use natural or butyl rubber gloves. Follow the instructions for treatment and application. Only use according to label directions. Apply AVAIL in well-ventilated areas. Due to the possibility of eye and skin irritation, avoid direct contact. In case of accidental contact with eyes or skin, flush with ample water. If irritation persists, contact a physician. Could be harmful if inhaled or swallowed. Empty containers may contain residue. All label warnings also apply to empty containers. Do not contaminate waterways and sewers during cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes, always adhering to applicable region-specific laws and regulations. Completely empty contents into application equipment. Dispose of empty containers by depositing in sanitary landfills or as required by law. Do not reuse containers.
